About Me

I’ve always had head for engineering and after discovering programming, I understood that it's the perfect way to satisfy my creativity and ambition. So, I started working towards that goal. I attended intermediate level VET and received a diploma of Technician in Microcomputer Systems and Networks.

As recognition of my dedication, I was invited to participate in the Erasmus programme. After passing selection process I did three months of internship in Malta.

Then I worked for three years on a full-time job as Helpdesk Technician where I highly improved my soft skills. After gaining some confidence I was tasked with making reports and ended up participating in the development of a new department, where I was able to help structure procedures and train teammates.

When I was ready to return to my studies, surely as it happened to many of us, my plan became a victim of Covid pandemic. As they say "when life gives you lemons..." so I decided to take advantage of a bad situation and began learning to code on my own. After countless courses and small projects, I felt confident and started working on freelance and personal projects.

My biggest project so far is “Vortaro.xyz”, end-to-end, ground up, full-stack (MEAN) application designed for autodidactic purposes and as a proof of concept. This app allows you to store words you wish to learn, to subsequently practice translation and spelling. Some of its features:

• Implements its own user system with password encryption.
• Server side API powering front page.
• Easy to use UX/UI design
• Responsive layout.
• Variety of exercise modes.
• Multiple themes.
• Animations.

I made this project to put my ability to code to the test and ended up quite pleased with the results, even though there is always room for improvement.
